PDT 4061 Developing Effective Teaching and Learning
Welcome to the first module for the MA Education Leadership and Management. The Developing teaching and Learning module will give you a chance to explore a variety of aspects of teaching and learning including teaching learning for gifted and talented students, using ICT in the learning process and other topics. You will be expected to shape the tasks to your area of interest and specialism.

Most material used for the module will be made available on the website. Once registered you will be abe to participate to all community discussions within your class and beyond. You will also be able to enter your weekly portfolio task in your personal online folder.
The Module will consist of weekly 2 hour workshops covering a range of topics as indicated in the Module Map.
In addition, there are five components of this programme:
1. An online bank of materials and discussion forum. You will be expected to spend at least two hours per week on this.
2. A continuous reading log and commentary. Reading Periods are half terms, and Easter periods, and winter break.
4. A tutorial support programme to support assignment construction. You need to contact your tutor and book these.
5. Your own personalised and focused portfolio of practice based activities and research which includes:
1. A portfolio of case study tasks and data (about 6000 words)
2. A focused action enquiry project including (about 6000 words)
Weekly tasks: In order to support you in the preparation of your e-portfolio, you are given weekly tasks which you need to report and reflect upon in your personal portfolio folder.
