2.The OU "Six Questions".

The OU (Curriculum in Action) six questions. Use these to evaluate learning in the classroom. They form the basis for action research and are deep questions involving evaluation, assesment and improvement

The Six Questions

1. What are the pupils doing?         (description)

 

 

2. What are the pupils learning?       (assessment)

 

 

 

3. Is it worthwhile?        (judgment and values- evaluation)

 

 

 

4. What is the teacher doing?      (description)

 

 

 

5 What is the teacher learning?      (analysis and reflection)

 

 

 

6 What will be done next time?       (action)

 

The OU 6 questions(OU 1981) cover all aspects of the action research process. It covers observation and description (Q1 and Q4), Assessmnet (Q2), and judgement (Q3).

 

It then leads the reseacher to analyse and reflect (Q5) and then take action to improve the learning (Q6).
