Institutional Needs

The Institution where I work needs this research; the Senior Management Team may not have realised this, nor perhaps my Line Manager but because Additional Learning Support funding has been cut, and the number of learners that are enrolling on course with Additional Learning Needs has increased, a different way of looking at Support issues needs to be arrived at.

There is much information on Secondary Schools and Inclusion, I'm thinking of using some of this research, and also the labels attached to learners to separate them into 'need to be aware of difficulty' and 'urgent need of difficulty' - ie in schools 'Action' and 'Action Plus'? I'm sure colleagues in Secondary Schools are more familiar than me in this area - Is this a way forwards?

That sounds like a good approach. It would be interesting to read more about what you have done.

For me gathering information would be more difficult because I don't have a specific work place and the books on inclusive theatre are limiting.
I have however found places to observe I hope I can gather a lot of information from that while connecting articles on the subject of community attitude toward people with disabilities and/or literature from government agendas.

This enquiry is important to find out the continuim of inclusive theatre. finding need and options for growth while defining inclusion and how does it work for certain groups?

why my enquiry

Your enquiry sounds very interesting Jessica. As a Headteacher I am passionate about promotoing speaking and listening in my school. Any research/practical help that can be disseminated to teachers in First, Primary, Middle and Secondary schools, whether specialists or not would be very welcome.

There is much debate around the whole inclusion agenda - inclusive theatre perhaps offers an opportunity to explore some of these issues through experience and expression?
