What beliefs and values do you bring to this research?

Cacti Four

We are all different because of our different backgrounds, experiences and beliefs! How boring would it be otherwise?!

Should you come clean and show your professional experiences and beliefs and values  that you have formed? (If you do you can reference post feminist researchers and claim that you have high level research skills) (PlowsMartindale, or the great Morwenna Griffiths)

Write a brief paragraph here  outlining the following:

Let us try a short example:

• Brief details of your professional life that have informed your interest in this enquiry

• Describe any critical or significant incidents that have informed your thinking about this enquiry.

• What beliefs and values are revealed by these stories?

If this was completed for the Action Research project, is it necessary to re-do this? Or can it be adapted from the last module?

Adapted.

This is a new topic. Expereinces and beleifs and values will be different for each topic.

Then it could be better by being referenced to the research literature (feminist) and more focused on bias, subjectivity gained through experience, beleifes and values etc

I took hold on Becker's comments on How is impossible "To do research which is uncontaminated by personal and political sympathies... therefore...the question is not whether we should take sides, since we inevitably will, but rather whose side are we on" (1974: 107).

It's important to note that regardless of the outcome, we as reasercher must keep an open mind to keep the our personal slants and a distance and to the possiblility the results may contradict our bleiefs.

Our experiences on the other hand can benefit the research in terms of having more educated enquies and direction based on previous incidents that established an academic outcome.

Having had acting and performance experience combined with education. I've found the combination with students motivating.
The results showed student confidence and communicative abilities improved. This was encouraging as a teacher to see and hence inspired me to do more, learn more and through research aquire more information.
